What is this ingredient?

Oatmeal is made from oat grains (Avena sativa) that are washed, hulled, heated and then cut into pieces or rolled flat. Because the bran, germ and endosperm remain, it is a whole grain with a firm nutritional matrix.

## Whole-grain oats

Oats contain soluble fibers such as beta-glucans, along with naturally occurring protein, unsaturated fats, minerals and polyphenols such as avenanthramides. Compared with many other grains, oats develop a soft, creamy structure when cooked or soaked.

## Kitchen and texture
