What is this ingredient?

Peanuts (Arachis hypogaea) are actually NOT nuts, but legumes — they grow underground in pods, just like peas and beans. This explains their unique nutritional profile: extremely high protein (25.8g per 100g, higher than most true nuts) and bioactive compounds not found in other nuts. Botanical curiosity: After flowering, the flower stalk bends down and burrows 5-10cm into the ground, where the pods ripen (geocarpy). This underground growth process makes peanuts susceptible to mold growth → aflatoxin risk with poor storage. Nutritional Benefits: Rich in resveratrol (0.05-1.8μg/g, the same cellular research polyphenol as in red wine), arginine (3.1g, NO precursor for blood flow), niacin (13.4mg, 84% RDA), and biotin (for skin/hair).
