An honest scoop of ice cream from four ingredients: frozen ripe banana that replaces the cream, frozen blueberries for depth and colour, frozen strawberries for freshness and a splash of oat milk to keep everything blending smoothly. Banana brings the creaminess through the pectin released during blending; the berries give the characteristic soft-purple colour and tart-sweet flavour. No ice cream machine needed, no condensed milk, no white sugar.
Replaces: industrial fruit cream-ice on cream, glucose-fructose syrup and flavours, fruit sorbets based on sugar syrup and apple-pear concentrate and ready-made 'berry-yoghurt' ice lollies from the freezer aisle
A supermarket berry lolly is rarely much more than coloured sugar water with a fraction of fruit concentrate and stabilisers. This nice cream rebuilds the same sensory image from whole fruit: frozen banana replaces the cream, two berries replace the colouring and the 'fruit aroma', oat milk replaces the milk and condensed dairy. Nothing is added beyond an optional streak of vanilla; the fruit is strong enough to taste for itself.
Why better: Banana supplies, per USDA, around 358 mg of potassium per 100 g; per serving that works out to around 420 mg, or about 21 % of the daily reference intake (NRV 2000 mg, EU 1169/2011). Potassium contributes to normal muscle function and to the maintenance of normal blood pressure (EU 432/2012). Strawberries supply, per USDA, around 59 mg of vitamin C per 100 g and blueberries around 9.7 mg per 100 g; per serving that comes to around 26 mg of vitamin C, or about 32 % NRV (EU 1169/2011). Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress (EU 432/2012). At 5 g of fibre per serving on 140 kcal (≈ 3.6 g per 100 kcal) this portion meets the EU threshold for 'high in fibre' (≥ 3 g per 100 kcal, EU 1924/2006); fibre increases the volume and viscosity of intestinal content and so supports normal digestion. At 140 kcal per serving, this is one of the lightest desserts in the plan — suitable as a daily close to a meal, not only a special-occasion treat.

Nutritional Synergies
This recipe combines ingredients that enhance each other:
Vitamin C + B6 for energy and immune system
Technical: Strawberries contain 59mg vitamin C per 100g (98% RDI) for immune function. Banana provides vitamin B6 (0.4mg/100g) — vitamin B6 contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system (EFSA). Vitamin C also improves iron absorption from strawberries.
What does this mean for you? The classic strawberry-banana smoothie is a rich combination for energy and immunity. Perfect as breakfast or snack.

Potassium + anthocyanins for normal blood pressure and antioxidants
Technical: Banana provides 358mg potassium per 100g — potassium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood pressure (EFSA). Blueberries contain anthocyanins that cross the blood-brain barrier. Together they provide potassium and antioxidants.
What does this mean for you? The perfect smoothie base: banana for creaminess and energy, blueberries for antioxidants. Ideal as breakfast or pre-workout.

Double antioxidant power: different anthocyanins
Technical: Blueberries contain malvidin and delphinidin (blue-purple), strawberries contain pelargonidin (red). These different anthocyanins work complementarily and provide broader antioxidant protection. Together they have a higher ORAC value than either alone.
What does this mean for you? Mix blueberries and strawberries in smoothies, yogurt or as toppings. The color combination is not only beautiful but also functional - more colors = more protection.

Ingredients (5)
-
Banana — 4 pcs ripe (with brown spots), sliced and frozen for at least 4 hours (ideally overnight) -
Blueberries — 150 g frozen
Instructions
- 1 Prepare the banana at least 4 hours ahead: peel, slice into 1 cm rounds and spread them loosely on a plate or paper-lined tray so the slices don't stick together. Freeze until rock-solid.
- 2 Take all the frozen fruit out of the freezer 3-5 minutes before blending so it softens just slightly — otherwise you overload the blender. It should still feel firmly frozen.
